Here is the link to my Statistical Analysis for this project: https://docs.google.com/document/d/145VjdB4CMS1i9xaSMxPuKogSuLd2ptwCaFDQeMaXFwE/edit Although, Belmont University is my reach school if I went to that college for acting since they've a great acting program, it would be the same cost as if I were a resident. During this assignment, I was mostly intrigued by the amount of loans that are provided in college in order to go to the desired college or even a realistic college. My plan for beginning my career is to become a costume designer which would be my minor and I'm hoping to major in acting. For this project, I had to do a lot of research on the gross income for an actress along with the many taxes that there are such as, Estimated Annual Tax, Net Income, Progressive Tax System, Etc. If you would like to capture my final product of my Financial Plan for this project, I'll provide a link down below where you can view this assignment. Here is the link to my Financial Plan for this project: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1A8kobLheHDmr_iJRRLorDLMGJaa-tjyc1fXPrwjAlTA/edit Process: Journal your progress throughout the project. What did you do? How did you create your financial plan, infographics and other products? How and when did you use the math? What challenges did you face and how did you resolve any issues you ran into? What parts of the project did you enjoy? The procedure for accomplishing my Financial Plan for this project included having to decide which college and major I plan to go towards in my future. I provided the top three colleges that I would like to go to in the order from a realistic college to a reach college. Next, during the procedure of conducting my Statistical Analysis for this project, I had to find valuable sources in order to make charts or graphs to help prove that my argument is correct. My position paper was about how, many people tend to rely on the media for a stereotypical image of a particular ethnicity and or religion which leads to people stereotyping in our world today. I believe that people should be proud and stay strong with their uniqueness. My beliefs on stereotyping is that each individual person is different and unique and they deserve to be treated equally instead of being stereotyped for that one ethnicity and or that one religion that they might not even be categorized as. Finally, through the process of conducting my infographic I came across multiple challenges. One challenge that I came across when making my infograph was being able to fill in the provided area in order to make a histogram that was presentable. Having to collect exact data in order to conduct a histograpm was difficult but I overcame this challenge by striving to give my best effort and doing as much research as I could possibly do. The histogram that I created for my inforgraphic was revolved around stereotyping a person for a certain religion and or race. During this project, a lot of the assignments that were assigned included math by having to research all the possible data then divide a certain number by another number in order to receive a specific percentage that needed to be collected to create a histograph. In conclusion, my overall favorite part of this project was being able to produce an efficient Financial Plan in order to prepare myself for college since there are many scholarships and loans that are provided in order to go to a reach or realistic college.
I learned many concepts for the financial concepts by being able to research and look in to more about what each individual concept plays a role in. When trying to produce my financial decisions I looked towards Mathematical Modeling which helped me to be able to narrow and break things down to result in predicting how something new would be played out. Throughout this project I gathered a deeper understanding of exponential growth and decay. I learned the formula for exponential growth and decay along with the meanings behind each letter that was included into the formula. I used the Statistical Problem solving process while producing the Statistical Analysis for this project. A Statistical Problem Solving Process includes, Step 1: Asking a question of interest, Step 2: Collect data, Step 3: Analyze data and Step 4: Show your final results. I gathered an understanding about the concept of logarithms which is, when log then the base and what it equals is provided you need to multiple the base however many times in order to get the final answer. I learned and captured how many people use a stereotypical image of a person which leads to people stereotyping someone for a particular race and or religion, this helped me to have a better understanding of a racial issue that occurs in our society which was a topic discussed at out symposium. “Mind the Gap” Exhibition: Reflect on your experience with the exhibition. Describe your role and how you grew in the process. Insert any pictures you have from the exhibition. My experience with the Mind the Gap Exhibition was a wonderful experience since I had the opportunity to be a fundraiser. Although, being a fundraiser was stressful I overcame this by being able to be rejected by any company or restaurant that wasn't willing to donate to our event. My role for this Exhibition was to be able to call any restaurants to ask for possible donations in order to provide dinner to the families, friends and teachers that were planning to attend our exhibition. I grew throughout the process of calling each individual restaurant by being able to gradually build up my confidence and be as professional as possible in order to be able to actually receive a donation. |
