- Phthalates- Any of various salts or esters of phthalic acid used especially as plasticizers and in solvents.
- Hypoallergenic- Having little likelihood of causing an allergic response.
- Comedogenic- Tending to clog pores especially by the formation of blackheads.
- Occlusives- Occluding or tending to occlude.
- Active Ingredients- Any component that provides pharmacological activity or other direct effect in the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease.
- Inactive Ingredients- Components which do not help directly in achieving a product's performance objectives.
- Preservatives- Something that preserves or has the power of preserving.
- Transepidermal- The measurement of the quantity of water that passes from inside a body (animal or plant).
- Hygroscopic- Taking up and retaining moisture.
- Solvated- An aggregate that consists of a solute ion or molecule with one or more solvent molecules.
- Humectant- Promoting the retention of moisture.
- Esters- Formed by the reaction between an acid and an alcohol usually with elimination of water.
- Solvents- That dissolves or can dissolve.
- Emulsions- Any colloidal suspension of aliquid in another liquid.
- Surfactants- A substance that tends to reduce the surface tension of a liquid in which it is dissolved.
- Emollients- Having the power of softening or relaxing, as a medicinal substance; soothing, especially to the skin.
- Moisturizers- A cosmetic preparation, as a cream or lotion, used to restore moisture to the skin, especially of theface and neck.
- Waxes- Any of various similar substances, as spermacetior the secretions of certain insects and plants.
- Thickeners- An apparatus for the sedimentation and removal ofsolids suspended in various liquids.
- Stabilizers- A person or thing that stabilizes.
