Mind the Gap Symposium Reflection
1) What is something unexpected that happened at the symposium?
In the beginning and throughout the procedure of putting together this Exhibition although everyone knew there specific roles to this symposium it was unexpected to vision everyone being productive at each station that each individual student was attending during the night of the Mind the Gap Symposium. I believe that although it was quite confusing memorizing where each student had to be from a specific time line, everyone was able to pull it off and everyone was where they needed to be which lead to a productive Exhibition while additionally, being off campus at the Vista Community Clinic.
2) What happened at the Symposium that you expected?
When I had begun trying to gather food donations from Chick-Fil-A, I knew that after calling and asking for food donations everything would be put together successfully. I had begun by calling Chick-Fil-A and asking for any possible food donations. Next, Chick-Fil-A had asked me to send an email to them on what the event is for which then lead to them responding back that they would love to donate food to our event. From the start I knew that Chick-Fil-A would be a great success on the night of Exhibition. Being able to work with Chick-Fil-A and talk one on one in person was an amazing experience since I was offered a job opportunity to work at Chick-Fil-A.
3) What would you do differently? What could you do? What should you do?
If I were able to do anything differently in order to make the Mind the Gap Symposium a more successful event, I would have expected for the flow of the Exhibition to be less choppy. The reason why I would like to have seen the Symposium less choppy is cause the time lines that everyone received made it to the point where most people were confused and ended up switching positions with other people which shouldn't have ever been in existence although everyone was productive at each station everyone still should have been in the proper locations that were assigned. Also, I feel that if the teachers wanted a more structured layout they should have given everyone a printed out layout of where everyone needed to be at a specific time line which would lead to each individual student feeling confident with their roles during the event.
